Brenda started working at AHOD in 1992 and is one of the first original employees. She lives in Falls Creek with her husband, Paxton, two daughters, Kayla and Ali, and five pets, two cats named Mimzy and Iris, and 3 dogs, Skippy, Russel, and Jake, all of which are rescues. Her newest addition is her grandson, Grayson. Brenda enjoys reading, gardening, walking her dogs, and spending time with her family.
Kris was born in South Bend, Indiana and grew up in Culver, Indiana. She began working at AHOD in April of 1996. Kris currently resides in Treasure Lake with her boyfriend. They have three rescue pets, kitties Mina Moo and Tilly Lou, and one little dog, Pippy Sue. Kris has volunteered at the Reitz Theatre since moving here in 1996 and has acted in many various plays. In her free time she enjoys cooking, making jewelry, listening to music and cuddling with her fur babies.
Charlie was born and raised in Punxsutawney, PA and graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 2000. He began working at the Animal Hospital of DuBois in November of 2003 and is currently the office manager. He is married to Angela and they have two wonderful children, Elizabeth and Olivia. Charlie resides in DuBois with his rescued pets, Hank a pitbull mix that had his left front leg amputated after being hit by a car, and Cuddles a kitty that lost the tips of her ears and tail due to frostbite. He enjoys spending time with his family, and outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, and geocaching.
Angela was born and raised in DuBois, PA, graduated from DuBois Area HS in 1998, and from Penn State University in 2008. She started working at AHOD in September of 2007. Angela is married to Charlie and has 2 children, Elizabeth and Olivia. She lives in DuBois with her rescue pets Hank, a three-legged pitbull and Cuddles, a stray kitty. Angela enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and vacationing at the beach.
Jill grew up on a farm in Penfield, PA. She currently lives in DuBois with her 3 sons. She graduated from DuBois Area High School in 1995. She joined our team in 2011. She has 4 dogs and 1 cat. Jill’s passion in life is to foster dogs (mainly boxers and boston terriers) and help them find loving homes. Besides spending time with family and friends her hobbies include camping, crafting, and listening to music.
Kelsey was born and raised in Clearfield, PA. She studied at the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh where she graduated in 2012 with an associate’s degree in specialized technology. She joined our team in January of 2012 on her externship and has been here ever since. Kelsey currently is married with two fur babies, Bobby a sweet feline that she adopted at school and Cashew a golden retriever mix. In her free time Kelsey enjoys camping, fishing, reading and playing darts.
Erica was born and raised in DuBois, PA. She graduated from DuBois Area High School in 2012 and joined our team in February of 2015. Erica is currently engaged. Her and her fiancé are currently looking for their special fur baby. In her free time Erica enjoys riding ATVs, camping, and spending time with her family.
Adam was born in Punxsutawney, PA, but currently lives in DuBois with his wife Brooke and two children, Jaelin and Ian. After being a mechanic for almost 14 years, he decided a change was needed. He return to school and is currently enrolled in the online Vet Tech program through San Juan College. He is often referred to as “The Crazy Cat Guy” for his love of cats. He currently has 4, Vinnie, Colby Jack, Francis and Oliver. Though animals are his new passion, he still enjoys “turning wrenches”, as well as, camping, comics, and building upon his useful and “pointless” knowledge.
AJ was born in Clearfield, PA but lives in Grampian where she was raised by her grandparents. She became an employee of AHOD in November of 2018. Aj’s childhood involved showing goats and horses in the 4H and Future Farmers of America. Aj has nine dogs at home of all different types of breeds and most of them are in the working field. Her dogs are Axle, Paris, Raven, Kahos, Dozer, K9 Radar, Chloe, Maya, and Sally. A few of her dogs are trained to find missing people and cadaver (human remains). Every year in May they attend the American Working Dog Association Seminar in Olean, NY to get them certified as tracking dogs to find missing people. One of Aj’s dogs, a German Shepherd named K9 Radar, is certified to find missing people and is also a therapy dog who goes to the Disabled Veterans Home, local hospitals, Paws for Reading,and is also a WTAJ news therapy dog. AJ enjoys training dogs. She trains other people's dogs in obedience and also fosters and rescues dogs in need.
Alyssa has been part of the AHOD team since 2010. She is from the DuBois area and has three cats. She earned her Veterinary Assisting Degree from San Juan College in 2011. In 2017 she received her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. Alyssa enjoys spending time with her cats, spending time with her friends and family, reading and traveling, especially to the beach, where she will be making a permanent move in May to start studying for her Veterinary Medicine Degree at St. Matthew's University in the Grand Cayman Islands.
